The addition of contemporary wall art is a great way to express personal style in a modern room or space. Fine works of contemporary wall art can be interpreted in a number of unique ways, and high-quality pieces add a considerable amount of drama and artistic appeal to a home or business. When looking for creative ideas for decorating with contemporary art, consider the following ideas for decorating a modern business or home. High-quality contemporary wall art will create a stunning first impression, and here you will find creative ideas for creating a focal point with incredible style and designer appeal.
Begin with Color
To create a stylish focal point, begin by painting one wall a rich color of your choice. Choose a dramatic hue that will highlight a fine work of contemporary art, and apply that color to a single wall instead of the entire room or space. Not only will a single color add more drama and interest, but it will also create a striking focal point without involving a great deal of extra time, effort or expense. Painting one wall that coordinates well with the rest of the space will add far more style than painting the entire room, and the accent wall will make an impressive statement.
Add Contemporary Lighting
If the room or area is lacking adequate illumination, consider adding contemporary lighting. Once the accent wall is coated in a rich shade that works well with the flooring and furniture, add a contemporary fixture that will illuminate the focal point. Consider a stylish built-in light to mount above a contemporary work of art, and choose a dimmer switch that will allow you to select the desired level of lighting. Although this part of the project might require the skills of a professional electrician, the results are well worth the investment.
Choose a Focal Point
If you do not already have a work of contemporary wall art in mind, choose a work of art that will match the individual style and unique personality of your home or business. The wall art you choose says a lot about who you are and what you represent as well as the style of preference. Take your time when making decisions, and choose wall art of fine quality to make the greatest overall impression.
Keep in mind that selecting the right piece of contemporary wall art involves more than simply choosing art that catches your eye or incorporates a particular color into the scheme of the design. Choosing contemporary art with soft curves will gently draw the eyes inward toward the display, while choosing contemporary wall art with vertical lines will naturally guide the eyes upward as well as downward. Works of contemporary wall art with horizontal lines will draw the eyes around the entire room. Make sure the piece you choose as the focal point of the wall will express your unique style.
Whether you begin creating a focal point by choosing a work of contemporary wall art or by selecting a particular wall color, always opt for the finest works of art for your home or business. The choices you make will create a first impression, and upon entering the space that first impression should be nothing less than spectacular. The focal point of an area or a room will most certainly be the first place the eyes gaze, and you have the power to transform that space into a stunning contemporary masterpiece that is sure to impress.

Hi Shanel, thanks for adding this. The picture you have of the metal 4 point layered "star", how was this made. I'd love to try and do something like this for a room that I'm working on. Thanks!~
Thank you for these examples, I love the way the metallic colors such as the copper and the gold combine well with each other, and they shine as well!

Dear Shanel, thank you for this very useful hub, especially I believe, for the most of men (top designers and stylist not included), because of our lack in that department. I've found out, that even if I read a lot about this interesting topic, I am still very bad about design issues and mixing colors. What could be so easy for you to comprehend and to play with, it could be quite impossible for me. In such a case I rather apply 'a magic touch' of any lady with much better taste and I am quite happy with results.
